Wanted?

 

This is Smithy. Smithy is looking for a wife. A white one. As these come far and few between in Vanuatu, he is having real trouble finding one. I promised him I would put an advertisement on my Blog to try and help him fulfill his wish of finding his life's companion. So here goes.

Things Smithy is looking for in a woman - apart from white skin - are brown hair, approximately 20 years old and willing to come and live in Malekula. If this is you, keep reading to learn that Smithy has a lot to offer as well: He will earn your family income working as a mechanic and driving his own truck. Your bamboo house will be situated not to too close to the ocean (nice and safe in case of tsunamis) with a big mango tree standing right next to it (shade!). And if that is not enough, he promises he will not beat you up.

All in all, not a bad deal I should think! I should add to this that the above picture does not really do him justice. He looks far less criminal, cute even, when he is smiling. I took a bunch of pictures of him when he had lunch in our little restaurant one day, but he insisted that this was the one he wanted to use.
