Technical trouble a la Vanuatu

Just a quick message to let you know that the telephone lines here in Malekula have been so unreliable that I haven't been able to get on-line very often in the past weeks, once a week at the most.  Just before Easter telecom Vanuatu decided to dig up some telephone lines to 'improve' the service and ever since the connection speed has plummeted to a whopping 18 Kb per second, if it is possible to get on-line at all. Although things seem to be improving slowly now, but please do not be offended if you hear from me only sporadically or find that this Blog does not get updated regularly. I wíll be in touch and wíll keep posting to this Blog. For instance, in a few days hopefully I will post a message here entitled "Why Caroline is leaving Vanuatu next month and what she will be doing then".
