Too much nature
In an earlier post I wrote about the amount of nature going on in my house. Here are two other examples. I tried to listen to some music on one of my MP3 players a couple of weeks ago. When it didn't work I thought "It must be the batteries" so I changed them. Still no sound. Then I noticed a little ant walking behind the little display window. At first I thought this quite a funny sight, until I realised that this probably was the cause of the problem. And indeed, when I opened up the thing I found lots of ants running around like crazy with little eggs between their front legs, trying to bring their future offspring to safety. They had started a nest right in the middle of my MP3 player!
They must have shorted a couple of circuits while they had been at it, because even after I ruthlessly murdered and removed each and every one of them the MP3 never came back to life. Great.
When I started to find little ants walking out of my laptop every now and then you can understand I got really worried! 'Luckily' the problem was not as serious this time, as the ants had not built their nest in the laptop itself, but in the laptop bag. I had been carrying a little ants nest back and forth to work every day! Wonderful.
Two days later I discovered another one in a common household item.
Lovely.
Yes, definitely far too much nature going on...
